Beyond Beats and Rhymes flyer

Greek Life was pleased to co-sponsor “Hip-Hop - Beyond Beats & Rhymes” - Movie Showing and Panel Discussion in conjunction with OSCR, OAMI, MESA/Trotter, Hip Hop Congress, and Rackham Graduate School. Byron Hurt’s 2006 film Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes examines “masculinity and manhood in rap and hip-hop, where creative genius collides with misogyny, violence and homophobia, exposing the complex intersections of culture and commerce.” This event explores these topics in greater detail through a film screening and panel discussion that considers the implications for our campus.

The event took place on February 12, 2014 from 7:00-9:00pm in the Rackham Amphitheater.
